Polymeric carbodiimide crosslinker that reacts with carboxyl groups in waterborne resins to greatly improve cohesion, hydrolysis resistance and heat resistance; slow at room temperature for a workable open time, fast crosslinking during drying.
Crosslinker · Carbodiimide
YT-G30 is a polymeric carbodiimide crosslinker that reacts with the carboxyl groups in waterborne resins to form crosslinks, substantially improving the resin's cohesive strength, hydrolysis resistance and heat resistance. When added to waterborne coatings, it reacts slowly at room temperature, ensuring a workable open time; as the coated substrate is dried and the temperature rises, it rapidly crosslinks with the resin's carboxyl groups.
Add according to performance requirements, typically 1–5%; add while stirring. For resin systems without co-solvents or low-viscosity systems, add under high-speed stirring, or pre-dilute with a co-solvent such as PMA or BCS before adding. At low ambient temperatures the product's viscosity increases; pre-heat to above 15 °C or dilute with a co-solvent before use.
Store at 5–30 °C in the original sealed packaging, in a cool, ventilated, dry place. Avoid freezing, high temperature and direct sunlight. Shelf life: 6 months.
