YT-155A is a new waterborne thickener. Compared with cellulosic and acrylic thickeners it gives the system better flow, excellent film formation, leveling, water resistance and gloss. There is no spatter during roller application, performance is unaffected by system pH, and the product resists biological degradation. Its efficient thickening imparts pseudoplastic rheology with relatively high viscosity at low shear, so the coating resists sagging and brushes out well — ideal for systems that need both leveling and thickening. The product contains no tin or toluene and is non-toxic, suited to mid- and low-cost emulsion paints, waterborne adhesives, inks, leather and textile coating systems.

Usage level is 0.5%–20% of the total formulation; the exact addition depends on the system composition and the required thickening and rheology profile.
Store at 5–30 °C in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Shelf life: 12 months. Avoid freezing and light exposure.
